The latest Splashback trends

It seems we’re bidding a not-so-sorry farewell to traditional tiled splashbacks, in favour of a lower-maintenance and altogether more eye-catching alternative!

Entering centre stage in 2022 and onwards into 2023 are full height splashbacks, and it’s easy to see why they’re taking the kitchen design world by storm.

Full height splashbacks can match the same material as the worktop, creating a seamless and elegant look that can make a real statement. With barely any joins, they’re straightforward to wipe down and easier to keep clean than their ‘tile & grouting’ counterparts. With the capability to cut the stone around wall sockets, they’re also just as flexible as traditional splashbacks.

For areas with windows or lower sections, standard upstands complete the look. These can be at various heights depending on your design and a riser is often recommended underneath a windowsill if this is also in matching stone.

Glass splashbacks and mirrors are also proving popular this year. Benefitting from the same easy clean properties, they also help to bounce light into the room.

Upstands can still be used with glass and mirrored splashbacks adding a perfect seal to the worktops and offering an extra design feature in the space.
